Engineering Village 2 provides access to over 5 million abstracts from Compendex, full text research articles, patents, standards and handbooks, seamlessly.

We are pleased to have made several strategic alliances with leading information providers in the engineering industry to offer our customers several valuable additions to our own world-renowned Compendex database. Subscribers to Engineering Village 2 will now be able to search the following databases and information sources:

Compendex
The definitive source of engineering information covering over 30 years of engineering research literature including full text articles. A bibliographic database containing over 5 million records and references to more than 5,000 engineering journals and conferences, Ei's version of Compendex is updated frequently to ensure that you have access to critical new developments in your field. Over half the records include abstracts and indexing, providing you with nearly twice as much literature as other versions of Compendex.

 Website Abstracts
Engineering Village 2 provides value-added access to more than 10,000 website abstracts. The abstracts have all been indexed using the Ei Thesaurus, as for Compendex, to ensure consistent search results across both databases. In addition, all the websites have been selected, reviewed and evaluated based on research value, technical content and relevant information, and experts in each discipline have evaluated the sites for inclusion. These experts are currently assigning quality rankings, based on content, ease-of-use, presentation, and organization of information.

The US Patent and Trademark Office
The United States Patent and Trademark Office database contains over 6 million patents, which can be looked up by Patent or Application Number, International or US Patent Classification, or by author, title or company. Patent records date from January 1, 1976.
