Summary:

This CD-ROM is designed to provide physicians and other health care professionals with an in-depth education on the epidemiology, physiology, and long-term changes associated with menopause. The risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy and alternative ‘treatments’ are fully addressed.

This CD-ROM also provides a comprehensive understanding of women’s attitudes about menopause and hormone replacement therapy. This will help the user develop skills for counseling women so that they can be partners in the decision-making process, whether or not it involves hormone replacement therapy.

Interactive case studies, a CME quiz, customizable patient hand-outs, and a review of the major menopause epidemiological research are provided.

Learning Objectives:

The two main educational objectives of this program are:

to provide education to physicians about the epidemiology and physiology of menopause, the long-term changes associated with menopause, and the risks and benefits of hormone therapy and alternative ‘treatments.’
to help physicians understand women’s attitudes about menopause and hormone therapy and to help them develop skills for counseling women so that they can be partners in decision-making about a strategy for long-term health and reducing risk for disease, whether or not it involves hormone therapy.
