The Gulf Chapter
of the Special Liraries Association Opened on the 24th
of October 2000.The main theme of the conference was on
Virtual Library.
In this 3 day event Librarians and professionals in the field
of
information technology from the Gulf region participated.
Accompanying
the conference, an exhibition on library related information
technology
products and services was organized. Major companies from USA
and Europe
in addition to the region attended this exhibition.
Integrated Information Network (IIN) who is partnership with
ISI for the
whole of the Middle East attended the fair together with ISI.
The two
companies presented ISI products and integration products and
services
which would establish virtual and electronic libraries for
universities and corporates.
